Jungle Lifeline CIC Secures Building Materials Boost
November 2nd, 2026
We've announced Jungle Lifeline CIC as a runner-up in our 2026 Community Heroes initiative, recognising the organisation’s commitment to supporting rainforest conservation, local wildlife rescue projects and educational initiatives.
The charity was selected by a panel including celebrity judge and TV tradesperson, Rob Bent. The campaign was relaunched this year, after research found that half of Brits (48%) say community spaces have disappeared in their neighbourhoods.
Based in Earlswood, Jungle Lifeline CIC is a community organisation dedicated to reptile rescue and specialised environmental education. They provide hands-on workshops designed to be inclusive and accessible, particularly for SEN children. The organisation brings rescued animals into supportive environments and helps children, who would potentially struggle in traditional environments, to connect with nature and discover a lasting passion for diversity and conservation.
Thanks to the Community Heroes win, Jungle Lifeline CIC will receive £1,000 credit to spend in their local branch, Selco Redhill. The charity is expanding its rescue and education centre, including a new dedicated room for inclusive learning. The funding will be used to create a safe, sensory-friendly space for SEN pupils and school visits, with interactive displays that will double their capacity to support local learning needs.
Darren Edwards, Director and CEO of Jungle Lifeline CIC said: “Being named a Selco Community Heroes runner-up means the world to everyone at Jungle Lifeline. We are absolutely thrilled. This funding boost will allow us to purchase vital materials to transform our education area, a project close to our hearts that will deeply impact how we inspire the community about wildlife.”
Now in its sixth year - and with a bigger prize fund than ever before at £62,000 – the Selco Community Heroes initiative is designed to benefit small community projects that are building brighter futures for their local areas.
David Lennon, Commercial Director at Selco, said: “Jungle Lifeline is doing fantastic work to make wildlife and environmental education accessible to more people in its community. We’re delighted that our Community Heroes funding can help bring their plans to life, creating a practical, welcoming space where children can learn, explore and develop a lasting connection with nature.”
