Selco Community Heroes
Our Selco Community Heroes campaign is back - and it's bigger and better than ever before, with an incredible prize fund of £62,000!
The competition is open to any charity, organisation or group that benefits their local community.
How it works
From April to November, we'll be awarding organisations with building materials from their local Selco to use on a project.
Each month, three winners will be chosen by our judging panel, joined by special guest judge, TV Carpentry & Joinery Specialist Rob Bent.
Monthly prizes
- 1st place: £2,000 to spend at their local Selco and a place in the Community Heroes final vote in November.
- 2nd and 3rd place: £1,000 each to spend at their local Selco.
The final vote
The eight monthly winners will go through to a final public vote in November, with fantastic cash prizes awarded to the three that come out on top:
- 1st place: £15,000
- 2nd place: £10,000
- 3rd place: £5,000

Our 2025 Community Heroes Winners
1st Place: Cleopatra's Legacy CIC.
Cleopatra's is a hair loss and breast cancer support service that provides wigs, breast forms and support services to people in the region. They have secured the 1st place prize of £10,000.
2nd Place: Together For Cinema CIC.
TFC installs cinema rooms in children’s hospices and other deserving venues. They received the 2nd place prize of £5,000.
Joint 3rd Place: SPIN (Supporting People In Need) and LATCH (Leeds Action to Create Homes).
SPIN works to create safe spaces, deliver practical training and build brighter futures for people facing financial hardship. LATCH is a charity which takes derelict houses in Leeds and turns them into comfortable accommodation for homeless people. Both charities received the 3rd place prize of £2,500 each.
