Good causes in chase for £5,000 windfall
February 6th, 2023
A dozen good causes across the UK are in the hunt for the £5,000 top prize in our Community Heroes competition.
Our judges have selected 12 finalists from almost 2,000 entries. All of the finalists have already won £500 worth of building materials to use on a project of their choice.
Now the good causes are vying for support in a public vote, which closes at midnight on February 28.
The group with the most votes will win £5,000 and the runner-up will scoop £1,000.
You can place your vote online.
People may vote for their favourite good cause once a day.
Carine Jessamine, marketing director at Selco, added: “Our Community Heroes campaign has been hugely successful. We were inundated with a record-breaking number of applications from a host of good causes with outstanding credentials, so all the finalists have done extremely well to be shortlisted.
“They do excellent work in their communities and I’m sure the prize money will make a huge difference to whoever comes out on top.
"It’s a great privilege to be able to support good causes in the areas in which we operate.”
