Selco supports charity’s party
November 24th, 2023Our kind-hearted Tyseley branch has helped children who have fled domestic abuse by contributing towards a special Christmas party.
Selco Builders Warehouse Tyseley donated £500 of art materials to KidsOut, a national charity that works with some of the 200,000 children who have left abusive homes to seek sanctuary in a refuge.
The materials from Hobbycraft were used at KidsOut’s Christmas party recently, where there were craft activities for the children to enjoy.
Simon Paris, manager at Selco Tyseley on Wharfdale Road, said: “KidsOut does amazing work supporting some of the most vulnerable children in society and just giving them something to smile about.
“We were made aware of the charity and the Christmas party by one of our loyal customers and we were very pleased to help with this donation.”
KidsOut works in collaboration with Women’s Aid, partner charities and corporate supporters to remind traumatised children what it is like to be children.
The charity organises days trips, toy boxes and fun days for the children to enjoy.
Sara Williams, CEO of KidsOut charity, said: “A huge thank you to Selco for their generosity and support.
“Our Christmas party was a chance for children to forget their troubles for a while and to have some fun.
“All the materials that we have to purchase for the events have increased in cost so we’re indebted to our supporters.”
