This year we’re supporting Cancer Research UK as our chosen charity, so look out for any fundraising we do in branch to raise money for a great cause!
Recently in May 2025, colleagues from our store marked VE Day by hearing wartime tales from residents at a local care home. Glyn Shortman, Chelsea Wootton and Luke Quinlan were privileged to sit with residents and listen to their stories and experiences of wartime Britain. We also arranged for a selection of cakes, biscuits and a fruit hamper for the residents to enjoy on the historic day.
David Alexander, our Deputy Branch Manager, said: “Our three colleagues were honoured to be able to join the celebrations at Baugh House Care Centre. They spent two hours sitting with residents, listening to their memories and laughing with them. The visit was very well received and appreciated by the staff at the home as well as the residents."
