What are concrete lintels?

Concrete lintels are horizontal support beams used above door and window openings, external doors and internal partitions or in load-bearing walls and are typically manufactured from reinforced concrete. They’re an especially important part of the structure of commercial, industrial and residential buildings, providing vital load-bearing support between masonry work.
Door lintels and window lintels are placed across the top of the opening, helping to distribute the weight of the structure above evenly across the surrounding walls and making sure the opening is secure and will not collapse.
