Builders Conversion Calculator
Our builders conversion calculator makes light work of complicated measurement calculations. It works as an imperial to metric conversion calculator, and vice versa. Or you can use it as a weight, length or area calculator, or to carry out a volume calculation in seconds.
Simply press the ‘Weight’ button to start using the weight conversion calculator. Choose from grams, kilograms, pounds and metric tons, and enter the measurement you wish to convert.
The ‘Volume’ button takes you to the volume conversion calculator. With this tool, you can convert UK and US measurements like buckets, minims, and pecks – or perform everyday volume calculations like litres to pints, or cubic miles to cubic kilometres.
As an area calculator, you can use it to convert acres to square feet, hectares to square inches, square millimetres to square miles, and so on. Or you can use it as a length calculator, to change centimetres to feet, inches to miles, or any of more than 25 other combinations.
Building Materials Calculator
Our building materials calculator lets you work out the amount of bricks, tiles, paint, hardcore, concreting supplies or insulation materials required for a job – so you’ll know exactly how much you need to order before you get started.
Our concrete calculator is really easy to use. Simply enter the length, width and depth of the area you wish to fill, hit ‘Calculate’, and it will instantly display all the materials you’ll need for the job.
The tile calculator works much like the concrete calculator, but requires a few more details. It’s still really easy though – simply enter the size of the area that you’re going to tile, the size of the tiles you plan to use, the height and width of any windows and doors, and the projected amount of wastage. Then click ‘Calculate’, and it will display the total area to be tiled, as well as the number of tiles needed.
To use the paint calculator, enter the room height and length, and the size of doors and windows, as well as the type of paint you’ll use and the number of coats you’ll need. Click the button and you’ll see the amount of paint required in litres.
The brick calculator lets you quickly work out the number of bricks or blocks you’ll need to build a wall of a specified size – simply enter its height and length, and the size of the bricks you’re using.
Finally, the loft insulation calculator tells you how many rolls of standard 100mm, 170mm, or 200mm insulation you’ll need to buy. Again, you just have to enter the dimensions of the area to be insulated, and the type of insulation you’re planning to use.
